Unable to Receive Push Notifications

If you are not receiving calls via push, even after configuring in the Incoming Calls, try enabling Single Registration/Instance. If not working, disable Simulate NAT. If neither helps, submit a support ticket with your username and domain name.

Troubleshoot issues with push notifications for calls not working using the steps in the following table:

Failure to register to receive push notifications

To enable Single registration or Single Instance in the Push Options of the SIP account.

  1. Open the SIP account's Push Options:
    • Android devices - Select Android Settings icon > Settings > Accounts > the desired SIP account > Advanced Settings > Push Options
    • iOS devices - Open the Keypad tab, select iOS Setting icon > SIP Accounts or Accounts > the desired SIP account > Incoming Calls > Push Options.
  2. Enable Single registration or Single Instance.
  3. Select a check icon or Done

To disable Simulate NAT of the SIP account:

  1. Open the SIP account's Push Options:
    • Android devices - Select Android Settings icon > Settings > Accounts > the desired SIP account > Advanced Settings > Push Options
    • iOS devices - Open the Keypad tab, select iOS Setting icon > SIP Accounts or Accounts > the desired SIP account > Incoming Calls > Push Options.
  2. Disable Simulate NAT.
  3. Select a check icon or Done. 

Important: Re-enable Simulate NAT if this method does not work.

  • iOS devices - Open the Keypad tab, select iOS Setting icon > SIP Accounts or Accounts > Help.

Tips

For 1und1 users, you have to enable Single registration and disable Simulate NAT. However, even with these settings, 1und1 still imposes severe restrictions on multiple registrations. If you encounter registration issues—whether when Acrobits Softphone or Groundwire is open or after accepting a push notification— close the softphone for about an hour and you should be able to register again.
