To create backups of your preferred settings in Groundwire or Acrobits Softphone, go to Preferences > Backup Configuration to save a configuration file. When needed, use the saved file to restore your settings within the application.
Backing up and restoring may be needed for troubleshooting, replacing devices, and ensuring security.
Backing up the Settings

To open Preferences:
- Android devices - Select > Settings > Preferences.
- iOS devices - Open the Keypad tab, select > Preferences.

Select Backup configuration.

Enter a configuration name in the Backup file name field.
- Enable or disable the options on the screen as needed.

Select the Backup button.

Depending on whether your device is Android or iOS, select cloud storage, local storage, or an app to save or send the configuration backup file.
Ensure the chosen location is accessible by Groundwire or Acrobits Softphone for restoration purposes.
Restoring the Settings on Android
Ensure the configuration backup file for restoration is available at a location accessible by the app.

Select > Settings > Preferences.

Select Restore configuration.

Select Restore file path, and then tap the blank field.

Navigate to the location of the file.

Select the desired backup file.

Select OK in the confirmation dialogue box.
- Enter the saved password when backing up, and then select CONTINUE.
- Select OK.
- Close and reopen the app to start using it.
Restoring the Settings on iOS
Ensure the configuration backup file for restoration is available at a location accessible by the app.
- Open the Keypad tab, select > Preferences > Restore configuration.
- If there is no backup file on the Restore configuration screen, go to step 3.
- Go to your cloud storage or local storage to locate the backup file.
- Select the desired backup file.

Select Yes in the confirmation dialogue box.
- Enter the saved password when backing up, and then select Continue.
- Select OK.
- Close and reopen the app to start using it.
